Product
Occupancy Power Saver.
Power off when you leave — no card needed.
-
About 300 kWh saved per room, per year
Presence sensing takes over the power, so the room stops paying for electricity while it is empty. Based on a typical room; the exact figure depends on your usage.
-
Guests have nothing to learn
Power on as they walk in, off after a delay when they leave. Every rule is invisible to the guest — a system you cannot see is the best kind.
-
Fits an existing 86-type back box
Keeps the existing back box with no rewiring; connects to the LMC platform through the USB micro gateway, with the saving policy configured centrally.
Energy
300 kWh a year.
Presence sensing takes over the power: no card to find, no card to insert, and the room never pays for an empty night.
-
Someone in → power on · someone out → off after a delay
Ceiling infrared plus microwave sensors decide whether the room is occupied: power comes on as the guest enters, and cuts off after the set delay (30 s by default, adjustable) once they leave. The test is not “is a card in the slot” but “is anyone in the room”, so a forgotten card can no longer drain an empty room. The cut-off policy is configured per room type in the LMC platform and can be layered with occupancy status.
Experience
Guests have nothing to learn.
Power on as they walk in, off after a delay when they leave. Every rule is invisible to the guest — a system you cannot see is the best kind.
-
Dual-mode sensing
Infrared plus microwave presence sensing detects both stillness and small movement
-
Adjustable delay
The cut-off delay defaults to 30 s and can be set per room type
-
Networked policy
Connects to the LMC through the USB micro gateway, issued centrally
-
Fits in place
A standard 86-type back box: replaces the existing power panel directly

Specs and FAQs
The Occupancy Power Saver is LOCK.LINK’s card-free power solution for hotel guest rooms — replacing the traditional card slot withInfrared + microwave presence sensing: the room powers up as the guest enters and cuts off after a delay when they leave, with no card to insert or look for. With LMC platform metering, a single guest room saves roughly 300 kWh。

Card-slot power vs LOCK.LINK occupancy saving
| Item | Traditional card slot | LOCK.LINK occupancy saving |
|---|---|---|
| Guest action | Insert on entry, remove on exit | On as you enter, no card |
| The easy mistake | Forgetting the card drains an empty room | Cuts off automatically after a delay |
| What it senses | The card decides — not whether anyone is in | Infrared + microwave presence |
| Saving | Depends on guest habit | About 300 kWh / year · room |
| Management | No data | Networked metering you can inspect and tune |
| Installation | Panel plus card slot | Fits an existing 86-type back box |
Retrofit steps
- Step 1 · Remove the old panel: With the power off, take off the old card-slot panel and check the back box and wiring (a standard 86-type box can be replaced directly).
- Step 2 · Fit the unit: Install the Occupancy Power Saver and wire it up; aim the infrared and microwave sensors along the room’s traffic path.
- Step 3 · Connect the gateway: Connect it to the LMC platform through the USB micro gateway and set the cut-off delay (30 s by default) and scene links.
- Step 4 · Verify: Simulate entering and leaving to confirm it switches on and off as expected, then check the usage data arriving in the platform.
Common questions
If a guest lies still in the room, will it cut the power by mistake?
No. It uses infrared plus microwave presence sensing (not simple infrared motion detection), so it still detects a person who is still, avoiding the classic mistake of cutting power while someone sits or sleeps.
Does every hotel see 300 kWh a year?
That figure is a conservative estimate derived from PMS order data, and comes mostly from stopping the waste on empty rooms (a forgotten card, power left on after checkout). Real results depend on occupancy, room type and habits — and once networked, your own metering verifies it.
Can it work with our existing room control?
It can connect to the LMC platform through the LOCK.LINK USB micro gateway, or be integrated with your existing room control / PMS on a project basis, subject to an assessment of what is in place.
Is it hard to retrofit an older hotel?
An 86-type back box is replaced in place and most standard rooms need no rewiring; the specifics depend on the boxes and wiring on site.
